The Ministry would like to draw Foreign Missions’ and International Organisations’ attention to the fact that in order to use the new diplomatic ID card electronically, users must update ID software to version 25.10. After receiving the new diplomatic ID card, the user must change their PIN2 code in the ID software. Only then can the new card be used for digital signing. Latest version of the Digidoc software can be downloaded and installed at https://www.id.ee/en/.
The Ministry would also like to point out that in case your diplomatic ID card is lost or stolen, it is important to revoke the certificates to prevent possible digital misuse. The certificates can be revoked at the revocation-portal (https://revocation-portal.eidpki.ee/en/landing) using another authentication method, e.g. mobile-ID, Smart-ID or one time password, which will be sent to your [email protected] email address. After the certificates are revoked, a new diplomatic ID card must be applied for.

The Ministry confirms that all previously issued diplomatic ID cards will remain valid until the specified expiry dates on the card and do not need to be replaced.
