Following consultations and the receipt of updated guidance from the Ministry of the Interior, the following understandings have been reached:
• Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports and members of international organisations arriving in Estonia for the first time who apply for accreditation while already present in the country will also be exempt from EES checks and the collection of biometric data.
• Unless otherwise agreed, such persons are expected to enter the Schengen area on the basis of their D-visa.
• For countries with which Estonia has bilateral arrangements permitting holders of diplomatic, official or service passports and members of international organisations assume their assignments without a visa, the exemption from EES procedures will likewise apply.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Diplomatic Missions accredited to Estonia the assurances of its highest consideration.
