“Estonian officials have received confirmation from their Ukrainian counterparts that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the official invitations through which President Zelenskyy and Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal are inviting world leaders to the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Tallinn in January,” Tsahkna said.
“Preparations for the conference are progressing in close cooperation between Estonia and Ukraine. We are moving ahead decisively with the next steps,” the Foreign Minister said. “The Recovery Conference at the end of January will help mobilise practical and urgent assistance for Ukraine in the midst of a harsh winter of war. Estonia’s aim is to bring Ukraine’s international partners to Tallinn and turn our shared pledges into concrete action.”
The foreign ministers also discussed the latest developments in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, including yesterday’s phone call between the President of Finland and the Prime Minister of Norway and the Russian leader.
“Estonia firmly supports Ukraine’s efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace. We will continue to provide Ukraine with comprehensive support and maintain pressure on Russia in order to strengthen Ukraine’s position,” the Foreign Minister stressed.
