The conversation following the presentation of credentials focused on bilateral relations between Estonia and Hungary and European security.
“Estonia wants to develop its relations with Hungary and do more both bilaterally and within the European Union. The better we are able to reach agreement on issues of common interest, the stronger and more secure Europe will be,” Ambassador Vanamölder said.
Vanamölder stressed that relations between Estonia and Hungary have deep historical roots. “We are ready to open a new chapter in relations between our two countries, deepen our dialogue and develop cooperation in areas where we have shared interests. It is important for Estonia to build a close and trusted partnership with Hungary,” she said.
Speaking about security cooperation, Vanamölder highlighted Hungary’s contribution to protecting Baltic airspace. “We are grateful to Hungary for its contribution to protecting Baltic airspace. Allied solidarity and cooperation are extremely important for ensuring the security of our region,” she said.
Ambassador Jana Vanamölder has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1995. She has worked in the Ministry’s Policy Planning Department, Press and Information Department, Political Department and Human Resources Department. She has also served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Estonian Embassy in Moscow and at Estonia’s Permanent Representations to the European Union and NATO. From 2022 to 2025, Jana Vanamölder served as chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Moscow. Jana Vanamölder holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Budapest University of Economics and Business.
