Changes to travel to the Kingdom of Thailand

09.09.2026 | 11:44

From Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the conditions for visa-free stays in the Kingdom of Thailand will change. Under the new rules, citizens of 60 countries and territories, including Estonia, will be able to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand visa-free for tourism purposes for up to 30 days.

While in the country, travellers may apply to the competent Thai authority for a one-time extension of their stay by 30 days. Under the new rules, travellers may also enter the Kingdom of Thailand through land border crossings twice per calendar year.

Estonian citizens who enter the country before 15 September 2026 will remain subject to the previous 60-day visa-free stay period.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends taking out travel insurance before travelling and planning the trip so as to ensure that travellers have sufficient funds to leave the country and return home.

All foreign nationals travelling to Thailand must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before their journey. For further information on visa matters, we recommend contacting the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Helsinki.

Detailed information on the changes is available on the website of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.
