This week, on May 11-13, “Estonian Week in Denmark”, introducing Estonia’s economy and culture, will take place in Vordingborg, Denmark.
The Estonia Week events provide a favourable opportunity for participating Estonian companies to establish new contacts and find new opportunities for cooperation with Danish companies. The events programme includes presentations introducing Estonia, a business conference and bilateral meetings with potential partners and business consultants. Participating in the event will be Minister of Entrepreneurship Liisa Oviir, who will also meet with the Danish Minister for Commerce, Business and Growth, Troels Lund Poulsen.
“The Estonian Embassy in Denmark has found a very good partner in the city of Voringborg, and together with other establishments supporting foreign trade, they have organised a series of Estonian-themed events”, Estonia’s Ambassador to Denmark Märt Volmer said. He is pleased that embassies have a good opportunity to establish contacts in foreign countries and to put them to work in the interests of Estonia.
According to ambassador Märt Volmer, the event’s cultural programme allows Estonia to be more widely introduced to Danes: "Through the Estonian version of Nordic cuisine, concerts and photo exhibitions, we are able to ingrain own positive image." During Estonia Week, the group I Wear* Experiment will perform a concert, photographer Toomas Volmer’s exhibition “Colours and Shapes” will be opened, and Vihula Manor chef Lauri Tomingas will introduce the modern tastes of Estonia at the Borgen restaurant.
The event is being organized by the Estonian Embassy in Copenhagen, the Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, Business Vordingborg, Enterprise Estonia and the city of Vordingborg.
