Estonia and Jordan
Bilateral relations
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan recognised the Republic of Estonia on 14 September 1991 and established diplomatic relations with Estonia on 24 January 2001.
Diplomatic communication between Estonia and Jordan goes through their embassies in The Hague.
Margus Rava became Estonia’s first non-residing ambassador to Jordan in March 2011. The non-residing ambassador of Jordan to Estonia is Dr. Khaldoun TH. Talhouni since May 2011 (residing in The Hague).
From 2001-2007 retired major general Shafik R. Jumean worked as Estonia’s honorary consul in Amman, Jordan. Since 2009 the Estonian honorary consul in Jordan has been Mr. Ayman Jumean.

Agreements
- 16 October 2003 – Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Estonia and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan regarding the status of Estonian police officers participating in the training of Iraqi police forces;
- 10 May 2010 – Agreement for the reciprocal facilitation and protection of investments (came into force 6 June 2011);
- 11 May 2010 – Government of Jordan and Eesti Energia concluded a co-operation agreement by which Eesti Energia will invest 5 billion dollars over the next 10 years to build up Jordan’s oil shale industry.
- 8 January 2013 – Visa Waiver Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Estonia and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for Carriers of Diplomatic Passports.

Estonia’s main export articles in 2012 were mineral products, machinery and mechanical equipment, and paper pulp and paper products. The main imports were medical and measurement apparatuses and mineral products. Estonia has investments in Jordan’s oil shale industry, as well as the gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector. Jordan does not have any investments in Estonia.
