Estonia and Bolivia
Bilateral relations
Estonia and Bolivia recognised one another upon joining the League of Nations (Estonia joined in 1922, the Plurinational State of Bolivia was a founding member in 1919).
When it joined the Anti-War Treaty of Non-Aggression and Conciliation in 1933, the Plurinational State of Bolivia was legally tied to the non-recognition of the occupation of the Baltic States by the USSR.
The Plurinational State of Bolivia once again recognised the Republic of Estonia on 8 September 1991.
Diplomatic relations between Estonia and Bolivia were established in The Hague on 10 March 2004.
Bolivia’s first ambassador to Estonia Mr. Milton René SOTO Santiesteban presented his credentials on 26 November 2009. The Bolivian ambassador resides in Stockholm.
No reciprocal visits have taken place between Estonia and Bolivia, and agreements have also not been concluded.
Citizens of the EU can enter Bolivia without a visa. Estonian citizens can spend 30 days at a time in Bolivia visa-free.
Economic relations
Trade
The primary export articles to Bolivia in 2009 were land transport vehicles (tractors, motor vehicles for transport of goods); machines and mechanical equipment (diesel motors or half-diesel motors). In 2009 Bolivia was Estonia’s 120th trade partner.
