Kanepi Made Quarterfinals in French Open

Estonian 23rd seed Kaia Kanepi reached the French Open quarter-finals for the second time on Monday with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 win over Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, 88th in WTA rankings.
Kanepi, who put out former world number one Caroline Wozniacki in the third round, also made the quarter-finals in 2008. Kanepi beat 9th seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark on Saturday.
In the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Kanepi played the world number two, Maria Sharapova of Russia, in their first meeting ever. Kanepi was then knocked out of the French Open quarterfinals by Sharapova with a final score of 2-6, 3-6.
