Tallinn and Klaipeda Ports Report Highest Throughput Figures in Baltics in First 9 Months

In the first nine months of this year, the cargo throughput of the biggest Baltic ports was the highest in Tallinn and Klaipeda ports and the Port of Riga was not far behind.
The cargo turnover of the Port of Tallinn grew 0.9% compared with last year to 27.50 million tons. In September the port handled 2.65 million tons of goods.
The Lithuanian Klaipeda Port handled 27.4 million tons of goods in the nine months, up 21.8%. In September 2.9 million tons of goods passed through the Port of Klaipeda, with growth compared with last year being 16.4%. The Port of Riga handled 25.17 million tons of goods in the nine months, 12.8% more than in the same period last year. In September the cargo turnover in the Port of Riga totalled nearly 2.6 million tons.
In the first nine months of the year the Latvian Ventspils Port handled 21.1 million tons of goods, 12% more than in the same period last year. In September the amount of goods handled at Ventspils Port totaled 2.2 million tons, up 43.5% compared with the same period last year.
