Kanepi Rises to 17th Place in World Rankings
Estonia’s best tennis player Kaia Kanepi rose four spots in the world rankings to reach 17th place. This is Kanepi’s highest ranking to date, with her previous best being 18th place in May of 2009.
The rankings are still led by Danish player Caroline Wozniacki, followed by Kim Clijsters (Belgium) and Vera Zvonarjova (Russia).
Other female Estonian tennis players included in the rankings are Margit Rüütel in 442nd (previously 414th), Maret Ani in 527th (previously 432nd), and Anett Schutting in 1149th place (previously 1147th).
